Dr. Kanchanamala Ranasinghe, also known as Kanchi, is a Sri Lankan-born Australian singer, lyricist, actress, and producer. With a deep connection to both Sri Lankan and Australian cultures, Kanchi’s music blends classical Sri Lankan and Indian influences, creating a unique and soulful sound. Her passion for music and the arts has led her to create over 45 original songs, and she has been recognized internationally, including receiving the Best of Asia Award for Classical Singing at the Intercontinental Music Awards (ICMA) in 2024.
Her career in performing arts extends beyond music, having starred in Sinhabahu, a famous Sri Lankan opera-style drama. Her family legacy in theatre has earned them a Guinness World Record for the longest-running theatre performances in Sri Lanka.
